Malaysia based Low Cost Carrier Air Asia X began added Adelaide to its network, with their 4 x weekly services beginning today. From 23rd November 2013, services will increase to 5 services per week.
A330-300 9M-XXH operated the inaugural service. The aircraft arrived from Kuala Lumpur at 09.45hrs as 'D7246' under the callsign 'Xanadu 246'. After completing the inaugural formalities, media conferences etc. 9M-XXH departed at 11.40hrs to Kuala Lumpur as 'Xanadu 247' under the flight number 'D7247'
This was XXH's 1st visit to Adelaide. Since Air Asia X has flown to Australia, Adelaide has seen 4 different aircraft visit as diversion due to either medical emergencies or poor weather at their destination.
