Air Asia X begin Adelaide flights today!!!

Malaysia based Low Cost Carrier Air Asia X began added Adelaide to its network, with their 4 x weekly services beginning today. From 23rd November 2013, services will increase to 5 services per week.

A330-300 9M-XXH operated the inaugural service. The aircraft arrived from Kuala Lumpur at 09.45hrs as 'D7246' under the callsign 'Xanadu 246'. After completing the inaugural formalities, media conferences etc. 9M-XXH departed at 11.40hrs to Kuala Lumpur as 'Xanadu 247' under the flight number 'D7247'

This was XXH's 1st visit to Adelaide. Since Air Asia X has flown to Australia, Adelaide has seen 4 different aircraft visit as diversion due to either medical emergencies or poor weather at their destination.

Jetgo AustraliaE135 VH-JTG makes a quick visit (1st visit)

Jetgo Australia E135 VH-JTG arrived from Kingscote at 14.45hrs as 'JG99'. After a quick fuel stop the aircraft departed to Sydney using the same flight number.

The aircraft was being used as a charter aircraft to carry passengers who were apart of the Bill Peach Journery 12 day Great Southern Aircruise 2013.

This was Jetgo Australia's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also JTG's 1st visit to Adelaide.

Global Jet Luxembourg Global Express P4-VVF Arrives (1st Visit)

Global Jet Luxembourg Global Express P4-VVF arrived on Rwy.05 from Ayres Rock at 12.45hrs.

Edit: After night stopping in Adelaide, P4-VVF departed at 10.20hrs on 28/10/13 to Bangkok, Don Mueng Airport

This is the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. It is also the 1st visit of an Aruba registered aircraft to Adelaide.

Gulfstream 550 N818LF makes a visit (1st Visit)

Wells Fargo Bank Gulfstream 550 N818LF c/n 5311 arrived at 12.15hrs from Sydney. After overnighting the aircraft departed to Temora, NSW at 09.20hrs.

This was N818LF's 1st visit to Adelaide. Based on the destination of this aircraft, it may have replaced N36GV which used to frequent Temora a lot.

Qantas B747-438 VH-OJT diverts to Adelaide

Qantas B747-438 VH-OJT operating 'QF6' en-route Singapore-Sydney diverted to Adelaide, arriving at 09.00hrs. After refueling in Adelaide the aircraft depart at 10.20hrs to continue its journey to Sydney. This is believed to be VH-OJT's 1st visit to Adelaide.

The reason for the diversion was due to large amount smoke form bush fires in New South Wales reduced visibility at Sydney Airport.

Safair C130 ZS-RSC makes a visit

Safair C130 Hercules ZS-RSC arrived at 19.00hrs from Cocos Island as 'Safair 530'.  The aircraft departed Adelaide at 10.20hrs on 20/10/13.

The aircraft has visited Adelaide before. Its last visit was just over a year to the day on 17/10/12 when it arrived from Cocos Island and then continued onto Christchurch the following. It is expected that this the same routing will occur again this year.

TwinJet Aircraft A319 G-NMAK arrives (1st visit)

TwinJet Aircraft A319-133 G-NMAK arrived from Nadi at 15.45hrs as 'TWJ1'. To be further updated....

This is the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. The A319CJ is a very rare aircraft to visit Adelaide, also a rare sight is a G-registered aircraft which have been very few and far between over the years.

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines F028-100 VH-FNJ makes a visit (1st visit in Virgin Australia colours)

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines F028-100 VH-FNJ arrived into Adelaide this afternoon at 1705 from Melbourne as 'VA9541'. It departed at 1755 as 'VA9542' back to Melbourne. It came back later tonight arriving at 2055 from Melbourne as 'VA9543' and departing at 2135 back to Melbourne as 'VA9544'.

This is FNJ's 1st visit to Adelaide in Virgin Australia colours. It only completed its re-paint late last Saturday.

Qantas B737-800 VH-XZI (1st Visit)

Qantas B737-838(W) VH-XZI arrived ex. Melbourne at 10.50hrs as 'QF679'. The aircraft departed at 11.40hrs as 'QF682'.

This was XZI's 1st visit to Adelaide since it entered service on 9/10/13.

Gulfstream 550 B-KGP arrives... (1st Visit)

Privately owned Gulfstream 550 B-KGP arrived ex. Tianjin, China at 13.05hrs.  After spending 2 days in Adelaide, the aircraft departed on 8/10/12 at 12.15hrs direct to Hog Kong.

This was B-KGP's 1st visit to Adelaide and took the number of foreign registered bizjets to visit Adelaide to 3 in the space of 4 days.

Jetstar Airways A320-232(SL) VH-VFQ arrived ex. Melbourne at 22.00hrs as 'JQ778'. The aircraft departed back to Melbourne at 22.30hrs 'JQ769'.

This was VFQ's 1st visit to Adelaide since it entered revenue service earlier in the day.

Cathay Pacific A330-300 B-LBC arrived ex. Hong Kong at 09.45hrs as 'CX105'. The aircraft departed to Melbourne as 'CX104' at 11.10hrs.

This is LBC's 1st visit ever to Adelaide since it entered revenue service with Cathay Pacific way back on 26/8/13.

SAAB Gulfstream 550 SE-RKL arrives (1st visit)

Saab owned Gulfstream 550 SE-RKL arrived into Adelaide this evening from Jakarta-Halim Airport at 18.35hrs.

This is the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. The aircraft frame itself is no stranger to Australian shores, in its previous life the aircraft was registered as ZK-KFB. This aircraft only made 2 visits to Adelaide in its previous life.

Jetstar Airways A320 VH-VFP  arrived ex. Melbourne at 10.35hrs as 'JQ776'. The aircraft departed to Perth at 11.15hrs as 'JQ974'.

This was VFP's 1st visit to Adelaide. It was also the aircraft's 1st revenue service with Jetstar since it was delivered 2 weeks ago.
