Sichuan Airlines A330-200 B-8468 diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Sichuan Airlines A330-200 B-8468 operating '3U601' from Chengdu-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide due to poor weather in the Victorian capital. The aircraft arrived at 16.55hrs, after a quick refuel in Adelaide the aircraft continued its to Melbourne departing Adelaide at 18.20hrs.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the 1st visit of Sichaun Airlines to Adelaide. It is a very rare sight to have a mainland china airline divert to Adelaide whilst en-route to one of the eastern states.

This was 6531's 1st visit to Adelaide. This is the 6th China Southern A330-200 out of its fleet of 10 to visit Adelaide.

This was ALL's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was ALM's 4th revenue flight since being delivered to the airline on Wednesday 21/12/16.

China Southern A330-200 B-6528 arrived from Guangzhou at 10.35hrs as 'CZ663'. The aircraft departed back to Gungzhou as 'CZ664' lifting off at 12.05hrs.

This was 6528's 1st visit to Adelaide. It was also the 2nd aircraft that wears the of a Skyteam Alliance livery to visit Adelaide. The only prior aircraft was China Southern B777-200 B-2056.

China Southern Airlines begins Guangzhou-Adelaide flights

China Southern Airlines today commenced 3 flights a week from Guangzhou to Adelaide. These flights have been a long time in the making and a handful of charters in previous years operated by A330-300's and B777-200ER's today marked a momentous occasion for Adelaie Airport. These new flights will be the 1st flights connecting Adelaide to mainland china.

The 1st flight was operated by A330-200 B-6135 arrives from Guangzhou at 09.25hrs as 'China Southern 663'. The aircraft departed back to Guangzhou as 'China Southern 664' departing at 11.50hrs. This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide.

With the commencement of China Southern services it takes Adelaide to 56 International flights a week covering 8 destinations.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. It is the 3rd USAF C17 to visit Adelaide Airport and the 3rd foreign Air Force C17 to visit the airport in the past 12 months.

This was ALL's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was ALL's 1st revenue flight since being delivered to the airline on Wednesday.

Etihad Airways A380-861 A6-APC operating 'EY460 Super' encountered unexpected head winds whilst en route from Abu Dhabi-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide arriving at 17.50hrs. After a quick refuel the aircraft continued its trip to Melbourne departing Adelaide at 19.15hrs.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was the 1st Etihad A380 to visit Adelaide as well as the 1st Etihad aircraft in new livery to visit to Adelaide.

This was ALK's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the very 1st revenue flight which the aircraft has performed since it was delivered on 22/9/16.

Emirates Sky Cargo B777-F1H A6-EFL arrived ex. Sydney at 13.30hrs as 'EK9242'. The aircraft departed at 17.50hrs to Manila using the same flight number.

This is EFL's 1st visit to Adelaide, it is the 2nd visit of an Emirates Sky Cargo B777F to visit Adelaide in 2 weeks. Sistership EFD visited on 10/9 to drop off a new engine for broken B777-300ER A6-EGA, EFL picked up the boken engine to take to Lufthansa Technic.

Pioanair Australia (operated by Virgin Australia Freight) Bae146-200F VH-SFV ferried in from Bankstown as 'VA9566' at 07.55hrs. The aircraft then entered its 1st day of freight operations the following day as to Melbourne as 'VA9570' departing at 20.45hrs.

This was SFV's 1st visit to Adelaide, the aircraft replaced Convair 580 VH-PDW which was used to operate for Virgin Australia whilst awaiting the delivery of SFV.

This was TLL's 1st visit to Adelaide. The aircraft returned the next night and spent the corresponding weekend in Adelaide.

Emirates Sky Cargo B777-200LRF A6-EFD arrived from Dubai World Centre via Singapore at 09.25hrs as 'Emirates 9826'. After dropping off its precious cargo, the aircraft departed to Sydney at 12.20hrs using the same flight number.

The aircraft dropped off a new General Electric Engine for Emirates B777-300ER A6-EGA which has been stranded in Adelaide since last Wednesday when it diverted to Adelaide whilst operating 'EK432' from Dubai-Brisbane.

This aircraft made 3 records upon arrival into Adelaide. It was the 1st visit of a Emirates Sky Cargo, it was the 1st visit of A6-EFD, also it was the 1st visit of a B777F to visit Adelaide.

This was the aircraft's 3rd visit to Adelaide. It visited Adelaide Airport back on 6/10/16 and made a quick visit to Edinburgh Base on 1/4/15.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the 5th different Gulfstream 650 to ever visit Adelaide.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. it was the 1st C27 to visit Adelaide, The RAAF have 2 in operation currently with another 10 on order.

China Southern A330-300 B-5928 operating 'CZ321' from Guangzhou to Melbourne diverted to Adelaide this morning due to a medical emergency on board. Arriving in Adelaide at 07.10hrs, the ill passenger was disembarked from the aircraft, the aircraft continued to Melbourne departing Adelaide at 09.10hrs.

This was the aircraft;s 1st visit to Adelaide. It was also only the 2nd visit of a Skyteam liveried aircraft to visit Adelaide, the 1 and only previous visit was also by China Southern when their B777-200ER B-2056 was charted to Adelaide back in 2013.

This was ALF's 1st visit to Adelaide. This leaves just A7-ALC to make its 1st visit to Adelaide, until more A350's arrive into the Qatar fleet.

This was LAK's 1st visit to Adelaide wearing the revised Cathay livery, it was also the 1st visit of the revised livery to Adelaide.

Iron Maiden B747 'Ed Force 1' Rocks into Adelaide

Air Atlanta Icelandic B747-400 TF-AAK which is on lease to Legendary Rock Band 'Iron Maiden' jetted into Adelaide arriving from Melbourne at 14.45hrs as 'Atlanta 666'. The aircraft is scheduled to continue on to Perth on 13/5/16

As seen in the pictures above, the aircraft is painted in the livery of the legendary bands tour scheme 'The Book of Souls. Adelaide is the 34th stop on their tour around the world. This is not the 1st time Iron Maiden have painted up a n aircraft, back in 2011 they painted up B757 G-STRX which visited Adelaide on 10/2/11.

This is TF-AAK's 1st visit to Adelaide, it is also the 3rd ever TF- registered aircraft to visit Adelaide (certainly not a common Prefix in this neck of the woods.)

Hifly (operated by ADA Gold) operating on behalf of Royal Australian Air Force A340-300 CS-TQZ arrived from Sydney as 'Aussie 21' at 18.35hrs. The aircraft departed from Darwin and Al Minhad in the Middle East at 20.05hrs using the same callsign.

This was TQZ's 1st visit to Adelaide and it was the 1st time the ADA gold aircraft has visited Adelaide in 2016.
