Etihad Airways B777-3FX(ER) A6-ETR operating 'EY450' from Abu Dhabi to Sydney diverted to Adelaide arriving at 05.00hrs. The aircraft stayed 4 days in Adelaide, it departed on 18/10/17 direct to Abu Dhabi at 09.25hrs as 'EY451A'.

This is ETR's 1st visit to Adelaide. It is only the 2nd Etihad B777 to visit Adelaide.

Qatar Airways B777-200LR A7-BBI Diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Qatar Airways B777-200LR A7-BBI arrived from Auckland 14.40hrs operating as 'QR921. After a quick fuel stop the aircraft continued to Doha at 16.00hrs using the same flight number.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. It is the 2nd visit of a Qatar B777-200LR to visit Adelaide in as many days.The reason for the visit was duel to a fuel shortage in Auckland 

Qatar Airways B777-200LR A7-BBD Diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Qatar Airways B777-200LR A7-BBD arrived from Auckland 14.40hrs operating as 'QR921. After a quick fuel stop the aircraft continued to Doha at 16.00hrs using the same flight number.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide. It was also the 1st visit of a Qatar Airways B777-200LR to Adelaide. The reason for the visit was duel to a fuel shortage in Auckland 

Emirates B777-300ER A6-EPS diverts to Adelaide (1st visit)

Emirates B777-300ER A6-EPS operating 'EK432' from Singapore to Brisbane diverted to Adelaide arriving at 02.15hrs due to Poor weather in Brisbane.

After the crew having is mandatory rest, the aircraft departed to Brisbane the following day as 'EK432D' departing at 15.20hrs.

This was EPS's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the 1st visit of an EP block of B77W's in the Emirates fleet to visit Adelaide.

Qatar Airways B777-300ER A7-BEJ operating 'QR904' from Doha-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide due to poor weather at its intended destination. The aircraft arrived into Adelaide at 17.30hrs. After a quick re0fuel the aircraft continued to Melbourne departing at 19.00.

This was BEJ's 1st visit to Adelaide. This was only the 2nd ever Qatar B777 to visit Adelaide, the only other visit was by A7-BAA back in 2013.

Sichuan Airlines A330-200 B-8468 diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Sichuan Airlines A330-200 B-8468 operating '3U601' from Chengdu-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide due to poor weather in the Victorian capital. The aircraft arrived at 16.55hrs, after a quick refuel in Adelaide the aircraft continued its to Melbourne departing Adelaide at 18.20hrs.

This was the aircraft's 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the 1st visit of Sichaun Airlines to Adelaide. It is a very rare sight to have a mainland china airline divert to Adelaide whilst en-route to one of the eastern states.

China Southern A330-300 B-5928 diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

China Southern A330-300 B-5928 operating 'CZ321' from Guangzhou to Melbourne diverted to Adelaide this morning due to a medical emergency on board. Arriving in Adelaide at 07.10hrs, the ill passenger was disembarked from the aircraft, the aircraft continued to Melbourne departing Adelaide at 09.10hrs.

This was the aircraft;s 1st visit to Adelaide. It was also only the 2nd visit of a Skyteam liveried aircraft to visit Adelaide, the 1 and only previous visit was also by China Southern when their B777-200ER B-2056 was charted to Adelaide back in 2013.

Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZE diverts in

Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZE operating 'NZ175' from Auckland to Perth arrived into Adelaide at 13.15hrs due to an un-well passenger. After off loading the passenger and a quick refuel. The aircraft departed at 15.10hrs continuing its journey to Perth.

This was ZK-NZE's 2nd visit to Adelaide. NZE made history as the 1st B787 to ever visit Adelaide back on 26/10/14

Emirates A380 A6-EDM operating 'EK406' from Dubai-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide due to Poor weather. The aircraft arrived at 07.45hrs and after refueling and waiting for the weather to clear the aircraft continued to Melbourne departing at 09.45hrs.

This was EDM's 1st visit to Melbourne. This was the 3rd Emirates A380 to visit Adelaide with sister ships EDC and EEF both diverting.

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKH diverts to Adelaide (1st visit)

Jetstar B787-8 VH-VKH operating 'JQ24' from Tokyo-Narita- Melbourne diverted to Adelaide this morning due to poor weather. The aircraft arrived at 00.10hrs, after resting in Adelaide for the weather to clear the aircraft departed to Melbourne at 11.25hrs as 'JQ7991'.


This was VKH-'s 1st visit to Adelaide, it was also the 1st visit of a Jetstar B787 to Adelaide. This was the 4th B787 to ever visit Adelaide.

Etihad Airways B777-300ER A6-ETM diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Etihad Airways B777-300ER A6-ETM operating 'EY461' from Melbourne to Abu Dhabi diverted to Adelaide this evening due to a medical emergency. After dumping fuel to the North of Adelaide the aircraft arrived at 01.06hrs.

After safely disembarking the ill passenger the aircraft continued its journey to Abu Dhabi departing at 04.10hrs.

This was the 1st visit of an Etihad B777 to visit Adelaide.

Double A380's in Adelaide

A piece of history was witnessed in Adelaide this evening with not 1 but 2 A380's paying Adelaide a visit due to bad weather in Melbourne.

Qantas A380 VH-OQD operating 'Qantas 10 Super' from (London)- Dubai- Melbourne arrived into Adelaide at 21.25hrs. After refueling the aircraft departed back to Melbourne at 22.30hrs using the same flight number.

This was OQD's 2nd visit to Adelaide in the space of 3 weeks, with the same aircraft diverting to Adelaide on 18/9/15 operating the same flight.

Emirates A380 A6-EEH operating 'Emirates 407 Super' from Auckland-Melbourne arrived into Adelaide at 21.40hrs. After sitting down the end of the runway for almost 1hr, the aircraft finally manged to get a bay and get refueled, 'Emirates 407 Super' departed at 23.40hrs back to Melbourne.

This was EEH's 1st visit to Adelaide, the 2nd Emirates A380 to visit Adelaide (A6-EDC visited back in 21/2/13), it was also the 1st A6-EE* block of aircraft in the Emirates fleet to visit Adelaide,

China Southern B787-8 B-2735 diverts to Adelaide

China Southern B787-8 B-2735 operating 'CZ319' from Guangzhou- Perth arrived into Adelaide at 11.55hrs due to thick fog blanketing Perth. After spending a little bit of time in Adelaide and a quick refuel the aircraft departed back to Perth at 13.15hrs.

This was the 1st visit of B-2735 to Adelaide, it was alost the 2nd visit of B787-8 to Adelaide. However it was the 3rd visit by a B787 to Adelaide, the 1st was Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZE back in November 2014 and 2nd was China Southern B787-8 B-2372 on 5/7/15.

China Southern B787-8 B-2732 operating 'CZ319' from Guangzhou- Perth arrived into Adelaide at 10.00hrs due to thick fog blanketing Perth. After spending a little bit of time in Adelaide and a quick refuel the aircraft departed back to Perth at 11.45hrs.

This was the 1st visit of B-2732 to Adelaide, it was alost the 1st visit of B787-8 to Adelaide. However it was the 2nd visit by a B787 to Adelaide, the 1st was Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZE back in November 2014.

Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZE operating 'NZ176' operating from Perth to Auckland diverted to Adelaide due to a medical emergency. The aircraft arrived at 00.05hrs and then continued to Auckland departing at 01.50hrs.

This aircraft also wears the Air New Zealand special 'All Blacks' Livery. This was the 1st visit of an All blacks special to visit Adelaide. The airlines has an A320 (Domestic flights only), ATR, and a B777-300ER that are painted up in this speicla livery.

Qantas A330-300 VH-QPA diverts to Adelaide (1st visit in new Livery)

Qantas Airways A330-300 VH-QPA operating 'QF30' from Hong Kong-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide, arriving at 0715hrs. The aircraft continued to Melbourne, departing Adelaide at 09.20hrs.

This was QPA's 1st visit into Adelaide since being re-painted into the new Qantas Livery. Qantas A330-300's are very rare into Adelaide these days since the airline pulled its thrice weekly Adelaide-Singapore service back in 2012.

Qantas A330-200 VH-EBV diverts to Adelaide

Qantas Airways A330-202 VH-EBV operating 'QF480' from Perth-Melbourne diverted to Adelaide today due to an aircraft getting stranded on one of Melbourne Airports runway. 'QF480' arrived into Adelaide at 11.45hrs, after refueling the aircraft continued to Melbourne departing at 13.35hrs.

This was EBV's 2nd visit to Adelaide. Its 1st visit was back on 27/1/14. The aircraft does wear 'One World' Alliance titles on its fuselage. 

Virgin Australia A330-200 VH-XFC diverts to Adelaide (1st Visit)

Virgin Australia A330-200 VH-XFC operating 'VA474' from Brisbane to Perth diverted to Adelaide this morning, arriving at 02.30hrs. The reason for the diversion was due to fog at Perth Airport.

After spending the day in Adelaide, VH-XFC departed at 21.45hrs to Perth as 'VA9903'.

This was XFC's 1st visit to Adelaide. This is the 4th Virgin A330-200 to visit Adelaide with XFA, XFB, XFC & XFD all making visits.

Qantas B747-438 VH-OJT diverts to Adelaide

Qantas B747-438 VH-OJT operating 'QF6' en-route Singapore-Sydney diverted to Adelaide, arriving at 09.00hrs. After refueling in Adelaide the aircraft depart at 10.20hrs to continue its journey to Sydney. This is believed to be VH-OJT's 1st visit to Adelaide.

The reason for the diversion was due to large amount smoke form bush fires in New South Wales reduced visibility at Sydney Airport.

Qantas A380 VH-OQA diverts to Adelaide

Qantas A380-800 VH-OQA operating 'QF10' From Dubai to Melbourne arrived into Adelaide at 04.30hrs. The aircraft departed to Melbourne at 06.25hrs.

This was OQA's 1st visit to Adelaide since 17th October 2008 when it completed its final training flights prior to it entering service with the airline.
